Angel Gomez
Angel has a compelling way with people. Through his speeches, workshops, consulting and coaching sessions he brings to bear a wealth of performance improvement insights that inspire individuals, teams and organizations to higher levels of achievement. His approach, shaped by 20 years of diverse professional experience, is accented by his passion for helping others find the bearing of their inner compasses – their true north.
Before launching his consulting practice in 2008 Angel practiced as a partner in the law firm of Seyfarth Shaw, LLP and in his own minority-owned law firm, Castro Gomez Durbin & DeJesús, LLC. As a law student Angel taught an undergraduate public speaking course and coached the undergraduate mock trial team. He also taught as an adjunct professor of appellate advocacy at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. Angel joined Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in 2004 and served as Vice President of Human Resources for the Midwest division. In that capacity, Angel developed strategies, processes and practices that enabled the $55B business unit to achieve its business objectives by leveraging its human capital. Angel also served as Director of Associate Training and Communications for Wal-Mart, as well as Director of Internal Diversity Relations for the office of diversity. He was responsible for launching diversity training and the company’s affinity group programs.
For his many efforts and accomplishments Angel was recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine in 2002 as one of the most influential hispanics in the United States.
